Shopping for a mortgage

Shopping for a mortgage has to be the most complex part of buying a home. A good licensed Realtor will be able to guide you through the process, as they have knowledge of the current mortgage market, experience negotiating with lenders and they understand the language of a debt and credit statement at a different level.

Some of our clients have shopped for a lender and will do just fine, but we have found that the majority of people pick their lender based on personality and personal recommendations- not based on interest rates and fees.

It is imperative that the agent you are working with has deep knowledge of the following:

  • The Mortgage Terms a Home Buyer Receives

  • Current Mortgage Rates

  • Traditional Mortgage Fees

  • Different Lending Institutions:

    • Traditional Savings Banks

    • Mortgage Brokers

    • Credit Unions

    • Non-Profit Mortgage Programs

Once you have had this discussion with a Realtor you will also be able to notice that a veteran agent, with more than a decade of experience, will know how to better direct you into a loan package that suits the needs of your family in order that you are able to create a long term plan. We wouldn't want you to agree to a short-term mortgage that only works for the first few years of home ownership. We want you to be happy for the duration of ownership, not just on the day that you move into the property. Call today for more specific and direct answers: Tanya: 734-330-4310
