Discover Della's: More Than Just Black Hair Care

Nestled in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor at 313 South State Street, Suite #6, Della’s is more than just a beauty supply store—it’s a celebration of culture, identity, and community. This Black-owned and woman-owned concept store is a must-visit for anyone looking for high-quality hair care, beauty products, and unique gifts. But beyond the products on the shelves, Della’s is the embodiment of a dream nurtured by its founder, Sheena McCullers.

Meet the Founder: Sheena McCullers

Sheena grew up in Toledo, Ohio, watching the women in her family transform their hair in kitchens, salons, basements, and even church bathrooms.

Despite her love for beauty, Sheena’s career took a different path. She built an impressive background in communications, higher education, program management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)—with a few entrepreneurial ventures along the way. But life had a way of bringing her back to her roots.

When Sheena, her husband, and their son moved to Ann Arbor from Brooklyn, NY, for her husband’s Ph.D. program, she immediately noticed a gap: there was no beauty space in the city that truly reflected the needs and culture of BIPOC individuals. So, she decided to create one.

In March 2022, Della’s was born—a space that offers not just products, but also representation, inclusivity, and belonging for Black beauty lovers in Ann Arbor.

More Than Just Hair Care

Della’s is a carefully curated space designed to uplift and empower. Sheena and her team handpick beauty products, wearables, and gifts that support Black women and BIPOC-owned businesses. In fact, over 35% of the hair product inventory and 70% of the gift items come from these brands, ensuring that dollars stay in the community and help other small businesses grow.

Beyond being a store, Della’s is a hub for connection—a place where customers can feel at home, share beauty tips, and celebrate the joy of self-care.

What You’ll Find at Della’s

  • Curated Beauty & Hair Care Products – From beloved brands like Mielle, Lottabody, and The Doux to niche specialty products, Della’s is the go-to for textured hair care essentials.

  • Wearables & Unique Gifts – Find stylish accessories and thoughtful gifts that highlight Black culture and artistry.
