If you're not familiar with the phenomenon that is Beatbox Jake allow Ann Arbor Hub to introduce you to this local artist representing Shattered Dreams Entertainment. Originally from just north of Ann Arbor, Beatbox Jake is most known for combining the guitar and beatboxing into a third category he calls "Beatbox Metal". While perfecting his sound Jake has had the pleasure of performing alongside legends such as KRS-One, NaPoM, and Carnage the Executioner, and was even featured as a guest beatboxer/guitarist for R.A. The Rugged Man multiple times, one of which was at the 2023 Gathering of the Juggalos.
Beatbox Jake's debut album, Dichotomy, released on January 5, 2025, showcases his innovative approach to beatboxing, blending diverse tonalities and emotions into a cohesive auditory experience. The album comprises 12 tracks, each highlighting his versatility and creativity.
Listeners can expect a dynamic range of sounds, from upbeat, jovial rhythms to darker, more introspective beats, reflecting the album's title, Dichotomy. This contrast offers a rich listening experience that appeals to a wide audience. Make sure you check out Track 5 titled "Smokin''
it's our personal favorite from the album featuring a laid-back drum beat and blending some blues guitar riffs in a way that's reminiscent of the great rock guitarists of the 70s.
